As a family run business, at Leamore Windows we love nothing more than putting smiles on the faces of our local West Midlands community. An example of this is a project working with the lovely Nick Townsend in Brewood, Staffordshire.
Mr Townsend was in the process of renovating his old period house, lowering both floors to allow for more head space.
He also wished to enable more natural light to enter the property by redesigning the rear of the house, installing larger panes of glass but also keeping its character by utilising wooden beams and Residence 9 Windows.
Residence 9 Windows are renowned for their authentic timber appearance, perfectly complementing older-style properties.
They keep in line with the characteristics of the property with the external timber frames, though on the inside the frames are decorative to fit in with the aesthetic of the home. To help achieve the objective of a more classic feel, we installed astragal bars and monkey tail handles to the windows.
We also replaced the single glazed glass panes with double glazed, A-rated units which offer a significantly better thermal rating.
As well as this, our team fitted an Aluminium Bifold door, sprayed to match the RAL colour chosen by Mr Townsend, who opted for a Corse Lawn style for both the windows and door.

Mr Townsend is a returning customer of ours, who has used us for several projects on his home over the past few years.
He was also drawn to our Residence Window offering, having visited our showroom and been impressed with the wide range of options we have on display.
Mr Townsend was kind enough to give a glowing review of his experience with Leamore Windows.
“Whilst renovating an old cottage, we felt it was important to keep as many original details and traditional cottage features as possible. However, we wanted to bring it up to modern building standards with quality products. We visited Leamore Window’s impressive showroom, where Gary was kind enough to advise us – and then it didn’t take us long to be convinced by the Residence 9 windows. They were full of character, with the traditional details we were after, such as the monkey tail handles which were just perfect for our cottage. Once we had decided on the style, it was over to the Leamore team for surveillance and fitting which ran perfectly, they were all such friendly fitters. Overall, we experienced a great service all round, and we’re extremely happy with our windows.”
