Most casement windows are typically side hung operations that open in or out or top hung with double or triple glazing, meaning that air can flow through the entire opening. Whereas, vertical sliders slide up and down via a modern torsion balance system and can be single-hung where the bottom sash slides open and the top sash is fixed or double-hung where both sashes open and close.
