As a family-run business in the West Midlands, at Leamore Windows we love working with local homeowners to achieve their property dreams. An example of this was a project with the lovely Lesley and Phil Robertson, replacing their existing front door and windows to provide their home with a fresh feel.
We increased the security of the Robertson’s home by installing a brand-new composite door, complete with 1200mm pull handles and an auto fire slam lock system in place.
The door in question was manufactured by our team at Leamore, giving ourselves and the client full control over the process. Our composite doors are available in a full range of colours, and in this case the Robertsons opted for an Agate Grey.
Composite doors offer unparalleled levels of security, as they are constructed to an incredibly robust standard and are fitted with elite locking systems. One of these is the fire slam lock, which is a special type of lock used on fire doors.
These locks have two key features, the first of which is automatic locking. This means that the lock automatically engages when the door closes firmly, preventing the spread of smoke and fire in an emergency. However, when it is automatically locked, it can open for authorised personnel. To gain quick access in an emergency, firefighters can unlock the door via a special key, or by breaking a glass panel to access a release mechanism.

We also installed a lovely set of flush casement windows in the Agate Grey colour to exactly match the door.
A flush casement window excels in adding a smooth and elegant look to a classic design. Unlike traditional casement windows, they have a sleek, slimline profile that sits within the frame as opposed to overlapping.
In this instance, the client opted for a horizontal astragal bar, a fixed bar applied both internally and externally to divide the pane and resemble the style of more classic sash windows. You can see the before and after images below, showing the notable improvement!

“We have recently had new windows fitted to our property by Sam and Nick of Leamore Windows Ltd. The work carried out has been excellent and we are extremely pleased with the finished job,” Philip Robertson.
Finally, we added the finishing touches, installing the glass and plastering and flooring the conservatory.
The Watton family were extremely pleased with the end result, commenting that “every phase was planned and completed promptly, efficiently and with minimal disruption to us and our home”.
Additionally, the Watton family found the staff here at Leamore Windows “very friendly and professional”, and they’d have “no hesitation in recommending them to anyone considering improving their home”.
